“The gaming industry will continue being a driving force of the Israeli economy”

“I think many of the employees that found themselves switching jobs will find very good places to work,” said Tal Ron, Chairman and Global CEO at Tal Ron Drihem Co, speaking to CTech at Calcalist’s Gaming 2022 conference. “Many of these employees will find themselves back in the gaming business. I don't think many of the companies will go the easy way and found development centers in Ukraine, Georgia, or Sofia. Maybe some of them will have their centers there, but the mind and management continue to be Israel. Israel will continue to be a gaming world even though there is no official regulation here that allows gaming and gambling.”

The Tal Ron Drihem law firm deals only with gaming and gambling cases, and so sees a large number of people coming to them and looking to enter the sector.

According to Tal, those who are laid off from their companies, like the recent layoffs seen at Playtika, will remain in the gaming sector. “Even if they become redundant in one company, they will easily find a place in the gaming industry,” said Ron. “The gaming industry will continue being a driving force of the Israeli economy, I’m pretty sure we will see that.”
