A record number of Israeli-founded unicorns are today calling New York their home, according to the United States - Israel Business Alliance. According to the alliance, 30 companies founded by Israelis use the Big Apple as their global or U.S-based headquarters, meaning it remains the city with the most Israeli-founded tech unicorns outside of Israel’s Tel Aviv.

"New York remains a financial and international hub that offers Israeli entrepreneurs a concentration of resources to build global companies," USIBA president Aaron Kaplowitz said. “In recent years, the growing number of Israeli-founded unicorns in New York has further convinced many early-stage Israeli founders that the Empire State is the ideal gateway to the United States.”

The number of Israeli-founded unicorns in New York has steadily increased, up from 26 in 2022. In 2019, that number was only five, meaning there has been a six-fold increase in only four years, despite external challenges such as the Covid-19 pandemic and a hardened economic climate.

In total. The 30 companies have created 14,717 direct jobs around the world with the three largest companies being Via (1,200), Verbit (1,000), and Wiz (833). The valuations of these 30 companies total $67.5 billion, with the most valuable being listed as Wiz ($10 billion), Fireblocks ($8 million), and Melio ($4 billion).

Other notable companies include Hibob, BigID, OpenWeb, and Minute Media, which was this year named Israel’s most diverse tech company at Calcalist’s Power in Diversity event and named by Calcalist as Israel’s Most Promising Startup in 2021.
