“Innovation in healthcare isn’t only relevant - it’s a necessity”

Osnat Naftali Katz, Business Development Manager at Beilinson Innovation, spoke to CTech at Calcalist’s Mind the Tech conference in New York about the significance of innovation in healthcare especially during wartime.

“On the morning of October 8th we found ourselves asking the question of whether innovation in healthcare is relevant. And the answer was yes. And not only that it’s relevant but that it's a necessity because these are times when you need to think outside of the box and meet the actual needs,” says Beilinson Innovation’s Business Development Manager Osnat Naftali Katz to CTech at Calcalist’s Mind the Tech conference in New York.

Founded in 2019, Beilinson Innovation is the innovation hub of Beilinson Medical Center.

“We took projects that were already in development and asked if we could adjust them to meet the new needs that are now occurring,” says Naftali Katz.

“We developed an AI-based software that could be used any time anywhere by anyone. You could take a photo or even write down your problem and it would give you primary care instructions,” says Naftali Katz of the various projects the center developed in response to the war. “We printed out special aids using 3D printing for physicians called to reserves and now needed to practice on something and didn’t have the right aids.”
