Security Contractor Magal Awarded $13 Million East Africa Contract
The Israeli security contractor will provide intrusion and cybersecurity systems for an unnamed East Africa port as a subcontractor of Toyota Tsusho Corporation

Magal Security Systems, Ltd. announced on Tuesday it had signed a $13 million contract to provide security products as a subcontractor for Toyota Tsusho Corporation, a member of the Toyota Group.

Magal’s security products would be installed at a “major international seaport in East Africa,” Magal said in a statement. As part of the deal, Magal will provide a number of technologies, including perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS), cybersecurity systems, video management software (VMS), and intelligent video analytics (IVA). The company said that the technologies would be integrated into and managed by a physical security information management system (PSIM), also by Magal. Founded in 1969 as a department of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and established as a private company in 1984, Magal is based in Yehud, 12 miles south-east of Tel Aviv.
