Mobile Security Company Zimperium Acquires Mi3 Security

Zimperium Inc., a San Francisco-based mobile security company, said on Wednesday it has acquired Mi3 Security Inc., a smaller startup in the same industry that is also based in the Bay Area. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Zimperium was founded by entrepreneurs from Israel in 2010, and has raised $60 million from investors including SoftBank, Samsung and Warburg Pincus. The two companies plan to combine their teams and integrate their technologies to offer stronger cyber threat detection and security for mobile phones.
