Amin Zoufonoun, Facebook’s vice president of corporate development, has concluded a short visit to Israel on Monday, according to two people familiar with the matter who spoke to Calcalist on condition of anonymity. Mr. Zoufonoun visits Israel regularly, these people said.
Having joined Facebook in 2011, Mr. Zoufonoun was involved in Facebook’s 2012 acquisition of Instagram among other high profile acquisitions. The media company has bought several Israeli companies, including mobile app developer Snaptu Ltd., bought in 2011 for an estimated $70 million, and facial recognition startup Face.com, acquired in 2012. In 2015, Facebook bought motion recognition company Pebbles Ltd.
