Israeli private equity firm FIMI Opportunity Funds has acquired 50% of Israel-based BIRD Aerosystems Ltd. Founded in 2001 by three veterans of the Israeli air force, BIRD develops airborne missile protection systems (AMPS) for military and non-commercial aircrafts, and airborne surveillance, information, and observation (ASIO) solutions. The company employs 150 people, mostly in its Israeli headquarters in Herzliya and the rest in its global offices. The company's main customers are militaries and government agencies.
