Tel Aviv-based shopping automation startup Trigo Vision Ltd. has raised $7 million in a seed funding round led by Tel Aviv and London-based Hetz Ventures and Vertex Ventures Israel, the company announced Wednesday. Founded in 2017, Trigo Vision uses in-store ceiling-mounted cameras to identify items picked by customers and create a no-checkout shopping experience. In 2016, Amazon launched Amazon Go, a checkout-free convenience store in Seattle. Trigo Vision intends to use the funding to grow its research and development team, the company said in a statement.
