American activist and public speaker Monica Lewinsky cut off a live broadcasted interview and walked off stage after she was asked about her relationship with former U.S. President Bill Clinton. Lewinsky was interviewed by Israel’s Channel 2 News chief anchor Yonit Levy in Jerusalem on Monday during a conference hosted by the Israel Television News Company, where she had also delivered a speech about the dangers and opportunities of the Internet.

On Monday night, Lewinsky tweeted about the incident, saying she had agreed to a conversation on the topic of her speech and had confirmed in advance that she would not be asked about her relationship with Clinton. Lewinsky added that a day before the interview she had vetoed the exact question Levi chose to lead the interview with, calling the incident a “blatant disregard for our agreement.” Lewinsky said she left because it was “more important than ever for women to stand up for themselves.”
