India's Tech Mahindra Announces Strategic Partnership With Israel Aerospace Industries

Indian IT company Tech Mahindra Ltd. announced on Wednesday it entered a strategic partnership with ELTA Systems Ltd., the cybersecurity subsidiary of defense contractor Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. (IAI). As part of the partnership, Tech Mahindra and IAI will collaborate to provide cybersecurity services to governments and enterprise customers such as banks, insurance, and telecom companies in India and globally. The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement.

Mumbai-headquartered Tech Mahindra is a subsidiary of the larger Mahindra Group. Tech Mahindra employs more than 113,000 employees and operates in 90 countries worldwide, according to the company’s website. It has been active in Israel since 2014 when it acquired Leadcom Integrated Solutions Ltd., a provider of network services for telecom companies. In 2015, Tech Mahindra announced it would be setting up a research and development center in Israel, in partnership with Israel-based Comverse Inc.

Government-owned IAI is Israel's largest aerospace and defense company specializing in developing and manufacturing satellites, jets, missiles, and weapon systems for government and commercial customers worldwide.
