"Otonomo seats at a very interesting intersection between mobility and data," said Ben Volkow, co-founder and CEO of Otonomo Technologies Ltd. As connected cars become more commonplace, he said, the amount of data they generate will accumulate and be worth hundreds of billions of dollars, turning the automotive industry into an industry that makes its revenues off data.

Volkow spoke Tuesday at a conference on innovation held jointly by Calcalist and events firm Connecting Leaders Club at the Mondial de l'Automobile auto show in Paris.

Founded in 2015, Israel-based Otonomo develops technology to monetize data collected by cars, acting as a middleman between car owners and potential buyers, including insurers and marketers.
