ASX-Listed Satellite Company SAS Receives Grant From Polish Government

Australia Stock Exchange-listed satellite company Sky and Space Global Ltd. (SAS) has received a 1.25 million Polish Zloty (approximately $336,000) grant from the Polish government, the company announced Thursday. Founded in 2015 by a team of three Israeli entrepreneurs, SAS uses nanosatellite technology to offer communications services for telecommunications providers. Headquartered in West Perth, Australia, SAS has additional offices in London and Rosh HaAyin, a town in central Israel.

The grant is intended to fund a collaborative project with the University of Wrocław focused on smart grid electric energy networks. SAS will use the funding to set up a research and development center in Poland and to purchase equipment.

The company also announced it has signed binding memorandums of understanding with five telecommunications providers—Brazil-headquartered Briskcom Business Technology, Canada-headquartered SkyX Systems Corp., New York-based Panteon Corp., Jamaica-headquartered Surge Telecom Ltd., and India-based Unizen Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
