The University of Illinois is building a new research center in Chicago in collaboration with the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, and Tel Aviv University, the latter announced Wednesday. The new research center will operate as part of a collaborative project called Discovery Partners Institute that focuses on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and big data. The program is already operating in an existing facility and the first building in the center is scheduled for completion by 2021, Timothy L. Killeen, president of the University of Illinois said in a statement.
