Bank Hapoalim, one of Israel’s largest banks, has partnered with Tel Aviv-based startup AnyVision Interactive Technologies Ltd. to give customers biometric access to their accounts, Ronen Yochpaz, the bank's executive vice president of application development said. Yochpaz spoke Monday at Calcalist’s and Bank Hapoalim’s eighth annual digital and mobile conference INSPIRE Digital@Mobile, held in Tel Aviv.
Using AnyVision’s facial recognition, the bank can let customers open a bank account online without having to come to a physical branch for identification and security purposes, Yochpaz explained.
In July, AnyVision announced a $28 million funding round led by German electronics company Robert Bosch GmbH.
