On Wednesday, the governor of the Bank of Israel Karnit Flug has stepped down after a five-year tenure. Her replacement, Israeli-American economist Amir Yaron, was announced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister of Finance Moshe Kahlon in October, but his appointment is still pending government approval.

Until Yaron is confirmed, the bank’s Deputy Governor Nadine Baudot-Trajtenberg will serve as acting governor.
