Without improving its telecommunication infrastructure, Israel will be left behind when it comes to national productivity, said Shira Greenberg, appointed chief economist for the Israeli Ministry of Finance.

Greenberg spoke Wednesday at Calcalist’s Telecommunications 2030 conference in Tel Aviv.

Better broadband infrastructure is key to all technological innovation, she said. “Precise agriculture, smart and autonomous mobility and remote medical procedures all require extremely fast-paced data transfers,” she added.
