Material Science Company Gauzy to Open Stuttgart Factory

Tel Aviv-based material science company Gauzy Ltd. is opening a second factory in Stuttgart, the company announced Friday. The factory will produce smart glass products for various industries, particularly the automotive industry, using light-control film technology developed by Woodbury, New York-based Research Frontiers Inc., which allows users to control the opacity of glass or plastic products. The factory is scheduled to open within the next six months. Founded in 2009, Gauzy has an existing factory in Tel Aviv and additional offices in Guangzhou, China and Dallas, Texas. The company has raised $12.5 million to date, according to Pirchbook data.
