Dell Technologies Backs Cybersecurity Startup Cymulate

The cybersecurity simulation software company completed a $7.5 million round led by Dell, Vertex Ventures

Israeli cybersecurity startup Cymulate Ltd. announced Wednesday the completion of a $7.5 million series A funding round. The round was led by Dell Technologies Capital, the investment arm of Dell Technologies, and Vertex Ventures Israel, a member of global venture fund network Vertex Venture Holdings. Existing investors Susquehanna Growth Equity (SGE) and Eyal Gruner participated in the round. To date, Cymulate raised a total of $11 million.

Cymulate offers cybersecurity simulation software designed to automatically assess and validate enterprises’ security measures and controls. The company was founded in 2016 by Israeli cyber sector veterans Avihai Ben-Yossef and Eyal Wachsman with serial entrepreneur and investor Eyal Gruner.

Cymulate said in a statement it would use the funding to expand its operations in the U.S., hire for additional management roles, and invest in research and development.
