Gamified Photo-Sharing Startup GuruShots Raises $5 Million

Photography sharing startup GuruShots Ltd. has raised $5 million, the company announced Wednesday. The round was led by investment firms Altair Capital, Buran Venture Capital, and Ervington Investments Ltd.

Founded in 2014, GuruShots develops an app that gamifies photo-sharing, enabling users to show off their photos, receive real-time feedback, win prizes, and get featured in photo exhibitions. The company has raised $6.5 million to date, according to the company’s statement, and touts over four million users.
