San Mateo, California and Tel Aviv-based medtech startup Theator Inc. has raised $3 million from Israel-based venture capital firms StageOne Ventures, iAngels, and North Carolina-based firm KdT Ventures, Theator announced Thursday.

Founded in 2018, Theator uses computer vision and machine learning algorithms to help surgeons prepare for procedures by reviewing previous cases. Theator’s recently announced Minute’s system automatically edits video footage of surgical procedures to highlight the necessary steps and the outcome-critical components, helping surgeons analyze and optimize their practice and reduce medical errors, according to company statements.
