Israel-based chipmaker TowerJazz, incorporated as Tower Semiconductor Ltd., has expanded its existing long-term partnership with German semiconductor company, Vishay Siliconix Itzehoe GmbH, the former announced in a filing with the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Monday. As part of the partnership, TowerJazz will produce existing and new power semiconductor products for the automotive markets in two of its factories. The newly developed automotive-dedicated chips are designed to improve the efficiency of power management circuitry while reducing physical space requirements. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
