SAP Partners With Cybersecurity Startup PlainID

Multinational enterprise software company SAP SE has entered a partnership agreement with Israeli cybersecurity startup PlainID Ltd., the latter announced Tuesday. As part of the agreement, an identity authorization service developed by PlainID will be featured in SAP’s customer data cloud portfolio.

Founded in 2015, PlainID offers an online authorization system that allows companies and organizations to monitor user identity and control web access in real time. The company raised $13 million to date.

SAP recently announced the opening of its first Tel Aviv-based accelerator program, SAP.IO Foundry, designed to support early stage business-to-business (B2B) startups. The first cohort is set to begin in July. SAP has had a presence in Israel since 1998, when it opened research and development centers in Tel Aviv and its suburb Ra’anana. In 2017, SAP bought Israel-based customer identity management company Gigya Inc.
