The MIPI Alliance, an international organization that develops interface specifications for mobile and mobile-influenced industries, has chosen technology developed by Israel-based automotive chip company Valens Semiconductor Ltd. as a standard for high-speed links for cameras, displays and sensors for autonomous vehicles, the latter announced Tuesday.

The MIPI Alliance includes organizations including Intel, Texas Instruments, Nokia, Motorola and Samsung.

Founded in 2006 and based in the central Israeli town of Hod Hasharon, Valens manufactures semiconductor products for the delivery of uncompressed HD multimedia content for the automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics markets. The company employs 350 people and has raised $167 million to date from investors including Goldman Sachs and Samsung.
