LED Lighting Startup Juganu Raises $23 Million

Juganu develops an end-to-end service that uses Qualcomm chipsets to create broadband communications networks of wireless grids, spanning one lighting fixture to tens of thousands

LED lighting startup Juganu Ltd. has raised a $23 million funding round, the company announced Wednesday. The round was led by Viola Growth, the growth capital vehicle of Israel-based Viola Group, with participation from Jerusalem-based equity crowdfunding company OurCrowd Ltd. and an unnamed Mexico-based investment firm.

Based in the central Israeli town of Rosh HaAyin, Jugano develops an end-to-end service that uses chipsets from Qualcomm Inc. to create broadband communications networks of wireless grids, spanning one lighting fixture to tens of thousands of fixtures, according to company statements. The company was founded in 2011 and employs a team of 70 people, according to statements.
