Jerusalem-based Convizit Ltd. has won first place at Trifecta, a $1 million startup competition held by Pitango Venture Capital, the latter announced Wednesday. The semi-finalists for the competition were unveiled in April during
Calcalist’s third annual Mind the Tech Conference in New York. Trifecta focused on the crossroad between data, machines, and humans.
Convizit Ltd. develops a system that automatically collects and processes website visitor information, providing website owners with data to help increase engagement and revenue. The company was founded in 2015. Eleven startups showcased their technology at the semi-finals, which were held at the New York offices of startup network SOSA. The judging panel included Pitango managing partners Eyal Niv and Ayal Itzkovitz, ViaVan CEO Chris Snyder, and Alexandra Schinasi, co-founder of Houzz-acquired interior design startup IvyMark.
The finals of the competition were held in Israel, where Convizit, as well as three other startups, competed for the $1 million prize. Othe finalists were software developer Imagry LLC, which develops a mapless, autonomous driving platform that negates the need for HD mapping data; Senecio Ltd., which develops a process for reducing mosquito populations to fight the spread of disease; and AIVF, which uses artificial intelligence to simplify the IVF embryo selection process.
“We decided to award the first place prize to Convizit because we believe the company brings together a strong team, breakthrough technology, and an area that is waiting for a big change,” Eyal Niv, Pitango’s managing general partner said in a statement.
