Students from Montreal’s McGill University spent the sweltering August heat in Israel learning about the country’s startup ecosystem. Forty students from McGill’s political science department and Desautels faculty of management were joined by faculty members from each department for the two-weeks visit to the country, the Canadian university announced earlier this month.

The business students’ program focused on fintech, and the students were brought to the Adelson School of Entrepreneurship at Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya to learn from their Israeli counterparts about Israeli innovation. The students also met with fintech executives and tech investors, including the venture capital firms Vertex Ventures and iAngels Crowd Ltd.
