The Israeli operation of San Jose-based payments technology company VeriFone Systems Inc. has acquired Tel Aviv-based software startup Action Item Software Ltd. for $4 million, the former announced Monday. The acquisition is in conjunction with VeriFone Israel’s plan to expand its research and development center in Tel Aviv, the company said in a statement, adding that Action Item’s 10-person team will be integrated into VeriFone.
Founded in 2008, Action Item Software develops software for a variety of mobile and cloud applications. The company names Paris-listed telecom company Orange SA, Nasdaq-listed billing company Amdocs Inc., and London-listed online gambling company 888 Holdings PLC among its customers.
