Google Backs Open Source Vulnerabilities Hunter Snyk in $70 Million Round

Google, through its venture arm GV, Accel Partners, and Boldstart Ventures led a $70 million funding round for Tel Aviv-based cybersecurity startup Snyk Ltd., the latter announced Tuesday. The new round brings Snyk’s total funding raised to date to $102 million.
Founded in 2015, Snyk develops and markets software that helps developers detect and fix vulnerabilities in third-party code modules. Snyk lists Google, Microsoft, and Salesforce as customers. The company employs a team of 78 employees in London, Tel Aviv, Boston, and Ontario, according to the company’s website.
In July, Snyk announced it had acquired Brentford, U.K.-based conferences service provider DevSecCon Ltd. for an undisclosed amount.
