Database Startup ScyllaDB Raises $25 Million

Database startup ScyllaDB Ltd. announced on Wednesday the completion of a $25 million funding round led by Eight Roads Ventures.
Founded in 2012 and based in central Israel and Palo Alto, California, ScyllaDB develops real-time big data database technologies for clients including IBM, Samsung, and Qualcomm. According to the company, its technology allows customers to reduce reliance on costly hardware compared to other database technologies such as Cassandra, MySQL, and Hbase.
To date, ScyllaDB has raised $60 million, according to Pitchbook data, from investors such as Bessemer Venture Partners, Qualcomm Ventures, TLV Partners, and Magma Venture Partners.
