On Average, Our Data Is Shared With 800 Different Websites a Day, Says Kape Exec

On an average day, each user’s data is shared with 800 different websites, Shirona Partem, head of development at London-listed cybersecurity company Kape Technologies PLC., said Thursday at Calcalist’s third Mind the Tech conference in London.

There are companies that specialize in taking users’ online trail, packaging it with other people’s online footprint, and selling it to companies without users knowing about it, Partem said.

Founded in 2011 as Crossrider PLC, Kape rebranded in March 2018. The company employs around 300 people in eight offices around the world, Partem said.
