Throughout history, the treatment of wounds has not changed drastically, according to Chen Barak, CEO of Lod, Israel-based Nanomedic Technologies Ltd. At Calcalist’s third Mind the Tech conference in London, Barak spoke about advancements in the injury-treatment industry. Nanomedic develops and manufactures on-the-spot electrospun medical products, such as a nano-spun artificial layer of skin, which aims to potentially replace the vast majority of traditional bandages. The transient fake skin can be combined with antibacterial creams, antibiotics, cannabinoids, hydrogel, and silicons, depending on the patient's needs, and is applied without actually touching the damaged skin, peeling off on its own once the patient's skin tissue is regenerated.
