Italian Insurer Partners With Israeli Motorcycle Safety Startup Ride Vision
Ride Vision utilizes sensors and computer vision technologies to automatically alert motorcyclists when they are about to collide with another vehicle

Milan, Italy-based insurance company Sara Assicurazioni SpA will integrate technology by Israeli startup Ride Vision Ltd. into its policy offerings, the latter announced Monday. Under their agreement, Sara Assicurazioni will offer motorcyclists it ensures Ride Vision’s visual alert system to reduce their insurance premiums. The collaboration is set to begin in 2020, when Ride Vision’s technology will become available in Italy.
Founded in 2018 by Israeli motorcyclists Uri Lavi and Lior Cohen, Ride Vision utilizes sensors, computer vision, and machine learning technologies to automatically alert motorcyclists when they are about to collide with another vehicle. Ride Vision’s system can also record and store videos documenting the ride that can later be used for insurance claims and in court. The company has raised $2.5 million to date and currently employs 10 people in the central Israeli town Herzliya.
