Helsinki-headquartered food order and delivery service Wolt Enterprises Oy is expanding its delivery radius in Israel to the coastal town of Herzilya, one person familiar with the matter told Calcalist on condition of anonymity. Wolt expanded its service to Tel Aviv suburb Ramat Gan earlier this month.
The company has signed agreements with approximately 50 restaurants in the Herzliya area, and is set to launch its service there next week, that person said.
Founded in 2014, Wolt works mainly with restaurants and food stalls that do not operate a delivery service of their own. Users make an order through the company's app, and the company makes the delivery via bike, bicycle, or car delivery, depending on the city and the weather conditions. The company began operating in Tel Aviv in November 2018, and currently works with more than 400 restaurants throughout the city.
