Tel Aviv-based radiation protection company Radiaction Ltd. has raised an $18 million funding round from New York-based investment firm InnovaHealth Partners LP, the company announced Monday. The new round brings the company’s total raised to date to $26 million, according to the company’s statement.
Founded in 2014, Radiaction develops full-body radiation shielding technology for medical teams. The company’s technology applies the radiation protection to the X-ray device itself to block scattered radiation, instead of requiring the medical staff to don protective gear.
The company was founded by serial entrepreneur Amir Belson, whose previous companies include medical device startup Vascular Pathways Inc. acquired by New Jersey-based medical device company C. R. Bard Inc. for $81.5 million in 2015.
