Marketing Startup Yotpo Acquires SMS Marketing Company SMSBump

Marketing startup Yotpo Ltd. announced Wednesday that it is acquiring Sofia, Bulgaria-based SMS marketing company SMSBump Inc. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but one person familiar with the matter who spoke to Calcalist on condition of anonymity estimated it at tens of millions of dollars.
SMSBump was founded in 2014 and provides a messaging platform to companies that contact customers via texts to inform them of order status updates, special offers, and customized promotions. The company employs 20 people who will be integrated into Yotpo’s existing team.
Founded in 2011 in Tel Aviv and now headquartered in New York with additional offices in Boston, Sofia, and London, Yotpo develops a platform that helps online retailers manage and respond to user-generated feedback and other online content at scale. The company employs some 500 people and intends to hire an additional 200 during 2020, according to its statement.
