After its former CEO and co-founder Adam Neumann was ousted in September, struggling coworking company WeWork has appointed Sandeep Mathrani as its new CEO, effective February 18, the company announced Saturday. The Wall Street Journal first reported the appointment earlier on Saturday, citing sources.

Mathrani will succeed interim co-CEOs Artie Minson and Sebastian Gunningham. A real estate executive, Mathrani most recently served as CEO of Chicago-based Brookfield Properties’ Retail Group. Prior to that, Mathrani was the CEO of Chicago-based General Growth Properties Inc., which was acquired by Brookfield Properties in 2018 for approximately $15 billion.

Neumann was ousted from WeWork following the company’s disastrous attempt to go public, which saw the company’s valuation plummet from its initial $47 billion to under $20 billion.
