Israel-based venture capital fund Pitango Venture Capital has announced Sunday the appointment of Gad Huldai as partner at its early stage fund. Prior to his appointment, Huldai served as venture partner at Pitango for the last three years and has participated in investments in companies such as StreamElements Inc., mobile websites startup Duda Inc., Convizit Ltd., and adtech startup Ubimo Ltd., bought last year by New York-listed digital marketing company Quotient Technology Inc for an undisclosed sum.

Prior to joining Pitango, Huldai served as venture partner at Giza Venture Capital, where he was involved in investments in companies including big data firm Crosswise Ltd., bought by Oracle in 2016, and Appsee, incorporated as Shift 6 Ltd., bought by New York-listed ServiceNow Inc. last year.

“Since he joined Pitango, Gad has collaborated on investment in SaaS, internet, mobile, and adtech companies, and brought an entrepreneur’s perspective and experience to seeing companies from establishment to exit,” Pitango co-founding partner Nechemia (“Chemi”) Peres said in a statement.

“The digital revolution offered me opportunities to work with the best teams on groundbreaking technologies,” Huldai said in a statement. “I’m happy to harness my experience and connections to help entrepreneurs build market-leading companies.”

Founded in 1993 and based in Tel Aviv suburb Herzliya, Pitango focuses on Israeli tech and healthcare companies at all stages. The firm has invested in over 250 companies to date, and has more than $2 billion in assets under management, according to company statements. Portfolio companies include ridesharing company Via Transportation Inc., location technology company Foursquare Labs Inc., and Nasdaq-listed cybersecurity firm ForeScout Technologies Inc.
