The real estate industry is responsible for 30% of global carbon emissions, according to Gregory Dewerpe, the founder of European venture capital firm A/O Proptech. Dewerpe spoke to CTech Thursday at Calcalist's WeTech Berlin 2020 conference, held in collaboration with Israel's Bank Leumi and German real estate company Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC.

The property-tech industry is becoming more and more green and sustainable, Dewerpe said. Sustainability is one of the fastest-growing trends in the industry, he said.

A/O PropTech is a property tech focused venture capital firm based in London, investing in real estate and property tech companies from series A to later-growth stages. A/O PropTech has a $32 billion real estate portfolio, according to the firm’s website.
