As daily life in many countries throughout Europe, North America, Asia, and South America is becoming increasingly limited as governments have been upping their country-wide restrictions in an effort to battle the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19), Israel’s national carrier El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. has been cutting down on its flight offerings. After already decreasing its flight offerings several times this year, El Al will now offer only four daily flights, the company announced Tuesday in a filing to the Tel Aviv stock exchange.

Also on Tuesday, the airline announced it was placing 5,000 of its employees on unpaid leave due to its diminishing flight roster. El Al will continue to pay the employees’ health insurance and pension plans, it said.

Earlier this month El Al forecasted revenue losses of $160 million between January and April.
