What is your lockdown routine?

Since March 15, I have been working from home and it is not easy with two energetic boys. They are either laughing or fighting all the time, they have gotten used to a life filled with sports and friends, and they were hardly ever at home.

All of a sudden, we are now five people stuck in the same house and in the meantime we need to manage two tech careers, do laundry, cook three meals a day, clean, organize, and most importantly, stay calm and keep a sense of sanity.

As a part of my day to day routine, I have a lot of Zoom meetings and I prepare presentations for C-level executives and management.

While I am doing that, I also have to answer math questions, read school texts with my boys, and play Legos with my lovely daughter.

What tips can you share about working from home?

I would recommend taking breaks between meetings and dedicate some time to play with the kids and do chores each day, even if this means working until 11 p.m.

Try to play with each kid for 20-30 minutes during the day. There is a chance to do that more often during these corona days. The same goes for sports, with or without the kids.

What do you miss most about your office routine?

I miss people, face to face meetings, and small talk on the way to the kitchen or during coffee breaks.

What will you miss most when life goes back to normal?

There is something calming about these days. There are no traffic jams, no rush to get to the office, and no rush to pick up the kids from school. Everything can happen from home.
