HP Indigo’s long-serving general manager Alon Bar-Shany told the company’s workers on Tuesday that he will be leaving the company. According to a person with knowledge of the move, who spoke to Calcalist under the condition of anonymity, his departure is part of a re-organization being carried out in the company. The person said HP has long been attempting to carry out the restructuring but Bar-Shany has vehemently opposed it. In recent weeks the American company decided to push ahead with the changes to adjust the company’s operations to new global developments.
Bar-Shany will be replaced by Haim Levit, an Israeli who lives in the U.S. and has held senior positions at the company for the last 15 years.
Bar-Shany has served as general manager of the digital printing company for 16 years.
He first joined HP Indigo after leaving Israel Chemicals Ltd. in 1995, where he held various executive positions in finance, strategic planning and business development.
HP Indigo employs 3,000 people in Israel and 4,000 more in sites around the world.
