NuTek awarded $100,000 prize from Merage Institute’s ‘45+ Entrepreneurs’ Competition’

NuTek Ltd., a developer of rainbow probes that can detect remaining cancer cells, earned first place as the winner of the Merage 45+ Entrepreneurs’ Competition. The competition, which is open to Israeli entrepreneurs over 45 and all women, helps startups with funding, exposure, and recognition for their companies.

As the winner of the competition, NuTek received the $100,000 prize as well as acceptance into the Merage Institute Innovation Bridge Program taking place in California. The company’s Founder and Chairman, Dov Cohen, has a B.Sc in electronics and computers, M.Sc in physical electronics, and an MBA in strategy and international management.

“We are dedicated to bridging innovation and entrepreneurship between Israel and the U.S to generate economic growth as we open new opportunities to all,” explained Paul Merage, the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Merage Institute. “This year we worked on a new model that provides a holistic, interdisciplinary, and effective boosting system, as well as initial funding for the winning entrepreneurs to be used towards financing their business plan.”

The Merage Institute helps achieve its goals of bridging the U.S and Israel through a variety of initiatives, such as leadership programs, collaborations, and promotion. Its 45+ competition has been running since 2014 and has run its flagship activity, the Innovation Bridge Business Leadership Program, since 2005.
