The CB4 software, which he led the development of, uses intricate pattern compression and machine learning to analyze patterns and anomalies in large datasets and map them to fit the specific needs of an organization. CB4 is part of Sequoia Capital’s portfolio companies.
In the sector of AI, he’s worked on many technical constructs that aim to improve transportation and provide real-time data on travel. His lab uses large datasets that aim to understand why and how people move in different areas in different times, as
he told Calcalist in 2019.
Utilizing his unique point of view, he has helped organizations understand how they can use AI to improve performance in their sectors, including in the fields of finance, telecommunications, and commerce. In the past, he has held positions at Tel Aviv University and Stanford, where he was a visiting professor. He has also worked at Afek Systems and engineered many software projects.
Ben-Gal is also the head of the industrial engineering and management program at Tel Aviv University. He holds a PhD from Boston University, and a bachelor’s in industrial engineering from Tel Aviv University.
