When asked about the most important thing investors should look for when scouting new companies, the Senior Director at Qualcomm Ventures doesn’t stick to conventional answers. “Everyone says the team, and that’s highly important especially in Israel, but the market is critical,” shared Boaz Peer. “If you have a great team or great app, but the market doesn’t happen… teams can always pivot but it’s very hard if you’re in a specific market.”
Speaking at Tech on the Roof, one of the first events to be hosted in a physical space since the outbreak of Covid-19, Peer clarified what it is the VC firm looks for in the market space. “When we look at an investment, beyond the team and the tech, we want to make sure there is either a market or we will invest in something that is going to happen soon, that the company will be able to be successful,” he said.
