Merav Oren has been appointed Head of Soluto, Asurion’s Israeli development center. Soluto founder and outgoing CEO Tomer Dvir will continue as executive VP at Asurion. Oren joined Soluto in 2011 as a Product Manager and served as VP of Product at the company for the last seven years.

“Having grown with Soluto since its young startup days, I am proud to continue leading the company to its next big successes,” said Oren. “Soluto was founded with a vision of making technology accessible and enjoyable to people worldwide. It continues to guide our product development today too. I would like to thank Tomer for the partnership and confidence and look forward to the joint work ahead. Soluto has a strong, diversified team with a high rate of women in its executive team: 40% of our R&D people and 50% in the executive management team. We have a unique corporate culture and a product that reaches hundreds of millions of people globally. Together with Asurion, we are ready to take the next step of becoming the service that manages all the products and services used by every household in the world. We are proud to achieve all that from Israel.”

In the position, Oren will continue to work alongside her colleagues, Doron Bashan, Soluto’s Head of People, and Boaz Avidan, VP of Engineering, responsible for the R&D processes of all of Soluto’s technologies. Over the past seven years, she led the product and design teams of leading products for Soluto’s U.S. parent company Asurion. These include partnerships with the company’s wireless carrier and retail partners, omnichannel services to provide protection and help for smart home technology, and more.

Soluto’s founder and outgoing CEO, Tomer Dvir, added: “I am excited by Merav’s nomination to head Asurion’s Israeli development center. The nomination is a natural step that was forthcoming. I am confident that her extensive experience, management skills, creative thinking, and execution capabilities proven in a range of complex ventures, will support our innovation leadership in Israel and globally.”

Soluto was founded in 2008 by Dvir and Ishay Green to provide a digital protection and support service that integrates an app, web portal, and support technicians. It raised a total of $18 million before it was acquired by Asurion in 2013 for $130 million, marking its entrance to the Israeli operations market.
