“Israeli companies that maybe were on the sidelines waiting to do IPOs or waiting to become public, and maybe not enjoying the growth or the momentum that other companies were, are benefitting from (SPACs),” said Guy Horowitz, Partner at DTCP when speaking to CTech at FinTech2021.

This year might have seen impressive money coming into Israel via the SPAC route, but is it all that it seems? “Fortunately for them, it became a possibility and people are challenging whether all the companies going public going through this process of SPAC are worthy of becoming and being public companies, and enjoying the multiples and the growth IPO companies are enjoying. The jury is still out on this one, but as far as I’m concerned that is just another way to create liquidity in the market. And there is so much money on the sidelines, there are so many people waiting to back those companies. I hope all of them know what they’re doing,” he concluded.
