Speaking at Calcalist’s Tech TLV conference during COP26, co-founder and CEO of TIPA, Daphna Nissenbaum, had some strong words to companies who deserve to feel pressure at all angles to promote the use of more sustainable materials.
“Take action. As long as we just continue talking, it doesn’t help anything,” she told James Spiro during the conference. “The level of understanding has maybe risen, maybe we understand better what’s going on out there with nature and how we are destroying the world, but we have to take action… That’s something I would like to say ‘hey, let’s put the spotlight on that as well, and let’s take action and fast’.”Some of the ways humanity can reduce its plastic intake is by applying pressure on companies both from a government level as well as a local level. “The pressure comes from the public, the end consumer, so there’s one pressure coming from the bottom. And the government has to pressure those companies from the top and say they can’t use plastic, and if they use plastic then the taxes are unbearable.”
