youAPPi: “People think Amazon doesn’t need to invest in retargeting. This is wrong”

Speaking at Tech TLV, youAPPi Founder and CEO Moshe Vaknin talks about the spending habits of frequent app users - and how companies can keep them

“Amazon is investing money to bring you back,” explained youAPPi Founder and CEO Moshe Vaknin when discussing what keeps us all filling our online baskets. “A lot of people think Amazon or the big players don’t need to invest in retargeting. This is wrong. They’re investing a lot in retargeting because they know the power of existing users rather than new users.”

According to Vaknin, existing app users are more likely to spend more money than new users. Amazon Prime members spend more on average than non-Prime users, and the same can be said for casual app users and more experienced ones. youAPPi helps apps both large and small keep users connected to them, avoiding the risk of them using interest in sales or going somewhere else to complete a transaction.

“Like every business, you have a big chunk that is making the most transactions. You might have millions of users, but actually a few hundred thousands will do the transactions. And that’s what creates your business. Now, if you’re not going to protect them, you're not going to retain them and upscale them to offer them more products you’re always going to decline.”
