“Duality enables organizations to collaborate on their sensitive data by making it possible to perform analytics data science, computation, machine learning models, and more on sensitive data,” explained Rina Shainski, Chairwoman and Co-Founder of Duality Technologies. “Today as we know, data is driving the economy, and collaborating on data is absolutely necessary to derive value from it. But there are many obstacles to that… and Duality provides solutions for that.”
Duality, which was founded in 2016 in cooperation with Team8, provides the technology that is needed to resolve conflicts that might arise when companies are obligated to share data. Shainski mentioned two sectors, financial services and healthcare, that are particularly at risk. “In healthcare, there is an ongoing conflict,” she continued. “Even in Covid-19, people have their private information but healthcare services, in order to predict the speed and the pace in which the infection actually develops, need to collect private data. So there is a conflict here between individual privacy and the public good. There is a conflict between individual privacy and business. So this conflict can be resolved by technology, it needs technology and that’s what Duality actually provides.” You can watch the entire exchange in the video above.
