“I think everyone knows Israel is very well known for cyber, well known for exceptional software, but I don’t think everyone knows that Israel is also exceptional in the digital health space,” explained Gali Halpern Wienerman, Life Sciences Ecosystem & Digital Health Partnerships Lead in Accenture Europe. Speaking ahead of Calcalist’s Innovation Week, Wienerman spoke about Israel’s role in the early days of digital health.
“We have a very long history of being very innovative in Medtech and that translated into digital health,” she continued. “The fact that we had all of this software capabilities and all of these brilliant minds… Startup Nation is very evident and prominent in digital health. A really good sign of this is that if you look at companies globally that receive investment in digital health, there are always Israeli companies in that top 10, for early-stage investments, for Seed, A, and B rounds.” In 2021, 5% of investment went to the Israeli market. “That is amazing thinking about how small our country is and how we bring amazing innovation and digital health innovation into the market.” You can watch the entire exchange in the video above.
